Is TellTail a diagnostic test?
No. TellTail is a health monitoring cat litter with a pH indicator: it shows that your cat's urine pH has moved, which is an early reason to keep watch and check with your vet, but it can't tell you why.
A color change tells you something shifted. Diet, water intake, the time since the last meal and how long a clump sat in the box all move urine pH, and so can a urinary problem. The litter can't separate those causes.
What it does well is notice. You see the reading every time you scoop, so a pattern shows up early — the same off color on fresh morning clumps several days in a row.
When you see a pattern, tell your vet what you saw and when. A urinalysis measures pH together with concentration, crystals and bacteria, which is the test that can name a cause.
